The Double Lip Conic Seal is a development that started in 2012 as an innovative proposal to eliminate pulp leaks that occur frequently at the feeding end of ball mills and to avoid:
- Contamination of the girth gear and pinion of the mill with pulp.
- Unscheduled untimely shutdowns for seal system repair.
- Reduction of maintenance costs and increased production due to greater availability of the Mill.
- Improves industrial hygiene.
This seal, patented by TRS, consists of the Double Lip Conic Seal (DLCS) itself, one or two complementary rubber seals mounted to the mill by means of a Clamping Flange and a Ceramic Coated Horn which is mounted at the end of the Spout Feeder or feeding tube and acts as a counterpart to the DLCS by providing a bearing surface for an efficient sealing under normal operating conditions. The change elements are the DLCS and the Ceramic Horn in a 2 x 1 ratio generally.
The success of this product lies in the combination of design criteria and the quality of the materials. We work directly with Zenith Rubber, a company that formulates exclusively for us ABRAMAX TRS 40 rubber which is used in our seals. This is a premium quality product comparable to other high-end rubbers available in the regional market.
