The best chocolate in the world is made from Peruvian cacao beans. The soil and climate of the Peruvian Amazon is ideal for the cultivation of cacao. OrganicCrops cacao beans are hand selected from mature heirloom Criollo and Forrestero trees that are harvested on small family farms in the Amazon Rainforest.
Cacao pods are harvested by hand. After removing the beans from the pods, the beans are fermented and dried in the sun. Raw cacao powder is made from roasted (max 43 Celsius) beans which are then husked. The raw nibs are milled and pressed to produce a fine powder.
