Lucuma is a flagship superfood from Peru. This product is used as an ingredient in bakery products, smoothies, juices, ice cream, and sweets. The company's powder production capability is 4,000 kg per month, and its delivery time is 21 to 30 days. 

Product Description:

Organic lucuma powder is made from fresh fruit after it is washed and disinfected. It is peeled and sliced to undergo dehydration at temperatures below 45° C and milling.

The drying process at high temperatures helps keep the fresh fruit's aroma, color, and flavor. Finally, it is pulverized to produce the organic powder. The product presentation is in powder, and its color is yellow or orange. Also, it has an intense aroma and a characteristic flavor of the fruit.

Product origin:

According to the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation of Peru, the intake of this fruit became popular during the Inca period, when they represented figures in pottery pieces. Likewise, vestiges of pre-Hispanic ceramics have been found with designs based on this fruit.

Currently, lucuma is considered a flagship product from Peru. This superfood grows on the coast and in the Andean region.

Health benefits:

The Peruvian Food Composition Tables publication, edited in 2017 by the Peruvian Ministry of Health, points out that lucuma has medical properties to protect the skin because it contains beta-carotene. This antioxidant reduces the damage caused by UV rays.

This superfood helps to maintain the correct functioning of the nervous system through its vitamin B3, boosts the immune system, and it is an anti-inflammatory product because it contains gallic acid. Also, it is an antibiotic, anti-carcinogenic, antioxidant, and protects the cardiovascular system.
