Sacha inchi, which means "Inca nut" in Quechua, is the seed of a plant native to the Peruvian Amazon. It is produced in the regions of Amazonas, San Martin, Huanuco, Junin and Ayacucho.

After drying and sorting, a cold pressing method is used to press the sacha inchi seeds. The cold-pressing process ensures that all nutrients are preserved.

The star-shaped fruit of the plant turns dark brown when ripe. The seeds contain 17 times the omega-3 oil content of salmon, as well as all eight essential amino acids.
