This fish has an elongated body, the back is silvery blue (iridescent) and the rest of the body is silver. Its large eyes and v-shaped crest open forward stand out. 

Hake is one of the white or lean fish, so it is characterized for being a low-calorie and low-fat food (less than 3%). For this reason, it is a good option for people who follow low-calorie diets.

It is also rich in proteins and vitamins A, D, E. It is an important source of omega-3 fatty acids and minerals such as selenium, iron, potassium, magnesium and phosphorus. The last one is an important element for the correct development of bones and teeth, and for the formation of muscle tissue and cellular metabolism.
