Millpu, which derives from the Quechua word “millpuy” that means to swallow, has given rise to enchanted stories by which the villagers of the populated center of Circamarca, who are closer to the turquoise waters, do not approach or have much contact with this place
The waters of this beautiful canyon are born at the foot of a stony hill, at the other end we can see two streams whose waters are poured from the tips of #Huancaraylla. In rainy season both rivers pour a lot of water, the narrow crack is not enough for the passage of the volume of water, which is why an immense lagoon is formed as if it were a natural dam. -The grandparents say that when you go this season, the earth moves with a strange sound, this because the water flow is passing inside it, therefore the water is swallowed by that narrow crack to appear on the other side. That is why it is known as MILLPU. (Devil's Throat)
This wonder of nature, this beautiful tourist attraction of Ayacucho. To get there you must go by car to the community of Circamarca, south of Ayacucho. Then, take a 30-minute walk to the pools. In honor of this natural beauty, we created our “Bag Millpu in the Sky” design
