The golden berry  (Physalis peruviana L.) is a shrub, native of the Peruvian Andes, known as a native fruit since the Inca times. It was one of the preferred plants in the garden of the nobles and was particularly cultivated in the sacred valley of the Incas.

This fruit is also cultivated in the provinces of Huánuco, Junín, Cajamarca, Ancash and Cusco. The tropical climate of these regions makes them the best places to grow our golden berry.
