Intipalka varietal wine: A new generation of varietal, reserve and grand reserve wines from Peru, offered by
Santiago Queirolo winery.
“INTIPALKA” means “VALLEY OF THE SUN” in quechua, the language spoken during the Inca Empire and still spoken in the highlands of Peru. The name makes reference to the valley of ICA, where the wines originate and has been recognized since the old days for its exceptional climate and lands for agriculture.
The vineyards, located at the foot of Los Andes, at 500 meters above sea level and more than 60
kilometers away from the coast, are blessed with a desert-like climate with great thermal amplitude and deep soils rich in magnesium. Technicall irrigation and hand harvested.
Vinification is done at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks and wines are aged in French oak barrels.
