These decorative flowers are made by hand with the ancient loom weaving technique, which women in various districts of the Lambayeque region still use.
The ancestral technique of the waist loom is known by different names depending on where it is used.
On the north coast and throughout the Andean zone, the waist loom is used to this day.
It is a tensioned structure of the warp between two main pieces that give the waist loom its name; they are called “loom” or “cungalpo”.
