White Pearl Quinoa, presented in 500-gram packages, is a differential product thanks to its origin and production process. This seed of pearled quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa) is cultivated by cooperative women farmers in the southern region of Peru, at an altitude of more than 3901 meters above sea level.
Regarding its nutritional value, pearly white quinoa contains essential amino acids, such as lysine, and significant amounts of calcium, phosphorus, and iron. In addition, its protein content exceeds 12.5%, which makes it an excellent option for vegetarians and vegans.
Regarding its applications, pearly white quinoa can be used as a substitute for rice and other cereals, such as wheat, oats and rye. It can also be used as an ingredient in soups, salads and breakfasts. It should be noted that before consumption, it must be cooked.
The characteristics of the pearly white quinoa are exceptional. It is an innocuous food, with a moisture level of less than 12.5%, 3.5% ash, 4.0% fat and 2.0% crude fibre. In addition, it is free of gluten, saponin, heavy metals and pesticides, complying with national and international regulations on the matter.
The pearly white quinoa production process includes harvesting the grains, followed by pre-cleaning, saponification, classification, selection and packaging in a specialized factory. The product has the SENASA Establishment Authorization, HACCP and Organic Product certifications.
