The pink pepper essential oil is obtained from the fruits of the Schinus molle tree. This tree grows in Ayacucho, a region of Peru. The extraction method is through steam distillation. It is used in perfumery, cosmetics and for aromatherapy.
It is recommended to be stored away from direct light. This product is sold in 50 kg metal drums.
About Schinus molle
Native to the central Andes, Schinus molle is a medium-sized woody tree approximately 8 to 10 m tall. It can adapt to high temperatures and dry seasons. It has hanging branches and a trunk that can reach up to 30 cm in diameter. Its flowers are small and it has striking reddish fruits arranged in clusters.
Its leaves contain an oil that is used in perfumery and in the production of toothpaste, while the fruits and seeds contain various oils such as myrcene, phellandrene, limonene and cadinol.
