Sonia Pedraza Choque was born with the art of weaving since she was seven years old, when she lived in Chucuito, which is a rustic town far from the city in which extreme poverty lived, a district located in the department of Puno. A lady she knew taught her how to weave. Her first job was to design woolen dolls and small doll clothes for the Christmas season so that she could bring some money to her house. In the 1970s, she learned to knit scarves, chullos, vests, etc. And in this way she specialized in the art of weaving, to later have her own workshop and have her own clients. At the age of 14 she started working at Artesanías Puno, they gave her a job designing women's clothing. . In 1984 it is the year in which she, due to fate, arrives at the navel of the world, Cusco. She worked in several companies for more than 10 years in which she was dedicated to the fabric of garments for men, women and children. But already in 1997 she formed her own workshop called Taller Artesanía Sonia and summon people who liked this art to be able to work in said workshop to date. From there she began to weave different garments, as well as she also began to buy weaving machines to satisfy customer orders.
MUNDO INTARSIA is founded with the initiative of many factors for which ARTESANIAS SONIA needed to become a company established for the export of alpaca garments to different countries (USA, ENGLAND, JAPAN, FRANCE) thus TEXDISA was born (Commercial Name ) and today continues to work with low-income people, especially SINGLE MOTHERS, LOW-INCOME PEOPLE, PEOPLE FROM THE COUNTRYSIDE, always trying to help people who need them.
