Royal Knit is an expert in the sustainable manufacturing of Alpaca Wool and Pima & Organic Cotton. It started as a family business, and today it has grown to become one of the pioneers in ​​innovating with the iconic Peruvian Natural Fibers without losing its essence. We have our program of workshops and social development following principles. We made a solid and consistent social commitment to the Peruvian community, working with transparency and focusing on sustainability.

Co-founders Cutipa Benita and her husband, Sebastián López, began their careers as volunteer teachers with the Caritas Program during the 1970s, helping farmers in the communities around Lake Titicaca in the Altiplano region of Peru. After finishing their volunteer work, they began training programs to value the old sewing techniques that many inhabitants had as a way to rescue these skills, promote cultural identity and add more commercial value to the region's crafts. In the 1990s, when terrorism became a part of Peruvian life, this young couple decided to move to Lima to raise their children in a safer environment. At the same time, they opened a logistics office to export goods produced in Cusco and Puno. As a second-generation and after-market analysis, they all agreed on the need to introduce new product lines and textile machinery to improve the quality of finished products and be more competitive in markets such as Italy, which mainly uses alpaca fibers (which is now as well known as cashmere.) It was in the year 2000 that Royal Knit was formally created and specialized in producing excellent quality clothing and textiles. RK also accepted the challenge to participate in the leading fairs in Germany, Japan, France, and the United States annually.
