The Takiwasi laboratory develops and markets natural products for health and personal care, which are inspired by the knowledge of ancient Amazonian medicine. It begins its research and development stage as a project promoted by the Takiwasi center, a non-profit association that since 1992 has been dedicated to researching traditional amazonian medicine with an intercultural approach. In 2011, the Takiwasi laboratory begins its biocommerce pilot project. Peruvian and foreign professionals from various disciplines (such as pharmaceutical chemistry, biochemistry, medicine, anthropology, engineering, psychology, biology, administration and forestry) participate in this project, brought together by the vocation of building bridges between traditional Amazonian medicine and modern biomedical science. At the meeting point between these two sources of knowledge, an enriching experience on health and well-being is lived, in which we understand the vital importance of caring for biodiversity and the ecosystems where human beings develop.
